Attractive Large Vintage Metal Bound Chest Storage Shipping Trunk

A lovely vintage metal bound shipping trunk. We date this trunk to the first half of the 20th century.

The trunk comprises of a large rear hinged lidded box.

The trunk is fitted with a large top tray.

There is a leather handle to each side and the trunk has metal bindings for protection. The front of the chest has large metal catches.

There are the remains of old shipping labels around the trunk.

The trunk has a height of 14.5″ (37cm), a width of 37″ (94cm) and a depth of 21″ (53cm).

This lovely trunk remains in a good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The trunk has been well travelled and has a number of usage marks as to be expected. The central catch is inoperable but still sits in place.

This remains a very stylish and functional trunk which would function well as coffee table etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
