A lovely antique Victorian pine dresser. We date this dresser to the second half of the 19th century.
The dresser is supplied in two sections, the main cabinet and the gallery back.
The base section is fitted with three drawers to each side flanking a central drawer over a cupboard. The doors are fitted with turned pine handles and the door is secured with a small catch. The interior is fitted with a mid mounted wooden shelf.
The dresser gallery has a wide shelf supported on two small turned columns.
The dresser has an overall height of 61″ (155cm), a main surface height of 33.5″ (65cm), a width of 54″ (137cm) and a depth of 22″ (56cm).
This lovely pine dresser remains in good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including a number of minor indentations and marks to the finish. There is an amount of darker marks and spots to the finish and the top surface has a number of usage marks from past use. There is a little bit of wear around the base edge and there are some old age splits to the mouldings around the rear gallery.
This remains a simple yet stylish and elegant pine dresser. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
