A lovely Victorian mahogany sideboard. We date this sideboard to the mid 19th century.
The sideboard is supplied in one main section, please be aware regarding access, corners etc. The rear gallery does remove for transport if necessary.
The sideboard is of a twin pedestal design, with each pedestal being a side hinged door cupboard. The pedestals each sit on four small turned legs.
The doors feature central panels veneered with well matched, finely figured mahogany. They are fitted with working locks (key supplied).
The interior of the left hand cupboard is fitted with two shelves. The right pedestal is fitted with a top shelf over a storage drawer.
There is a wide central slightly protruding drawer between the two pedestals.
The rear gallery has two sliding door cupboards allowing access to the top compartment.
The sideboard has an overall height of 47″ (120cm), a top surface height of 37″ (94cm), a width of 75″ (191cm) and a depth of 27.5″ (70cm) in the centre.
This attractive Victorian mahogany sideboard remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor indentations, marks and light wear to the top gallery surface, more noticeably there are a couple of small indented areas to the rear. There is a small filled age split to the veneer on the front right hand corner and the rear gallery doors have contracted over time giving a slight convex effect to the fronts.
This remains a very stylish and elegant Victorian mahogany sideboard. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
