A lovely vintage art deco birds eye maple dressing table and stool. We date this dressing table to the 1940/50s.
The dressing table has a pedestal to the left hand side and long slender cabriole legs to the right hand side.
The table is provided with a large arch top mirror. The mirror glass is thick and is showing some slight signs of foxing mostly to the edges.
The main table consists of a bank of four small drawers to the left hand side, a central kneehole drawer and two small drawers to the right hand side. All the drawer fronts have been veneered with well matched finely figured birds eye maple. The drawers are fitted with decorative cast drop handles mounted on shapely backplates.
There is a very useful small handheld mirror that sits on the frame on the left hand side, this simply lifts off at the rear.
The table top has been veneered with well matched finely figured birds eye maple also.
The stool has a lovely deco shape and is upholstered in a floral patterned material.
The dressing chest has a height of 64″ (163m) (including mirror), a main table height of 30.5″ (78cm), a width of 50″ (127cm) and a depth of 20″ (51cm).
This lovely art deco dressing table remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The table surface has a number of small indentations and light marks from past use. There are a few small wear marks to some edges also and there is a little bit of veneer missing from the front right hand corner.
This remains a very stylish and elegant vintage art deco dressing table which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
