Antique Inlaid Mahogany And Walnut Open Armchair

A beautiful antique chair. We date this chair to the early 20th century.

The chair sits on two downward tapered legs at the front with round feet and two curved legs at the rear.

The backrest has been decoratively inlaid at the front. There are also small contouring inlays on the armrests, the front legs and the stretcher at the front. The chair has further turned stretchers to the sides and the back.

The chair has been upholstered with a floral designed fabric with a decorative braid outline.

The chair has an overall height of 36.5″ (93cm), an overall width of 23″ (58cm), an overall depth of 21″ (53cm), a backrest height of 20″ (51cm), a seat height of 17″ (43cm), a seat width of 18.5” (47cm) and a seat depth of 17.5″ (45cm).

This lovely chair remains in very good solid condition with minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including a few very light indentations to some of the edges and an indent to the right back leg. There are some minor marks around the feet from past use.

This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
