A lovely Victorian pine washstand. We date this washstand to the second half of the 19th century.
The washstand sits on four downward tapered turned legs, the legs are supported by an under shelf and stretchers.
The main table top has an attractive grey and white mottled marble sheet. The washstand consists of two drawers to the front. The drawers are fitted with later added ceramic handles.
The rear of the table is fitted with a gallery. The main panel has a central section housing a row of attractively decorated floral tiles.
The washstand has an overall height of 39″ (99cm) (including gallery) with a table height of 27.5″ (70cm), a width of 48.5″ (123cm) and a depth of 24″ (61cm).
This lovely Victorian pine washstand remains in good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor marks, light scratches and wear to the finish from past use. There are a couple of marks to the marble surface and an animal has been biting the legs and stretcher, primarily to the left hand side as can be seen in the pictures.
This remains a very stylish and elegant Victorian pine washstand, which could serve equally well as a dressing table or even a desk for a laptop etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
