A lovely large oak tambour roll top writing desk. We date this desk to the early 20th century.
The desk sits on its end pedestals. Each pedestal sits on a four square section legs.
The desk is fitted with a large tambour roll top which is constructed from slats of wood. The roll top slides back to reveal the interior writing surface.
The main desk comprises the two end pedestals flanking a central kneehole drawer. the left hand pedestal is fitted with three drawers, and the right hand pedestal is fitted with a deep drawer below a single drawer.
The top section has an array of various sized pigeon holes.
The pedestal drawers are fitted with stand out carved handles.
The desk has an overall height of 40.5″ (103cm) with a table height of 30.5″ (77cm), a width of 45″ (114cm) and a depth of 27″ (69cm).
This lovely vintage roll top desk has been constructed to a high standard and remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The writing surface has a number of ink stains and the desk has a few light marks and indentations from past use. The lock is missing from the roll top section and there is a bit of wear to the top surface finish.
This remains a very stylish and functional large twin pedestal tambour roll top desk. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
