A lovely pair of retro bookcase cabinets, one from the Herbert Gibbs furniture range and one from Pheonix bookcases. We date these cabinets to the 1960/70’s. There is a plaque for the makers on the rear panels.
The Gibbs bookcase is made from mahogany and the Phoenix bookcase is made from oak.
The cabinets consists of a double sliding glass door bookcase section.
The glass doors have etched finger groove handles.
The interior of the glazed sections are fitted with a height adjustable shelf to each side.
The Gibbs bookcase cabinet has a height of 33″ (84cm), a width of 36″ (92cm), a depth of 9.5″ (25cm) and a shelf depth of 7.5″ (19cm).
The Pheonix bookcase cabinet has a height of 31.5″ (80cm), a width of 30″ (76cm), a depth of 10″ (26cm) and a shelf depth of 8.5″ (22cm).
These lovely retro bookcases remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor indentations to the top surfaces and some edges.
This remains a very stylish and elegant pair of retro bookcases. It could house a good sized collection of books etc., and will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
