A lovely converted elm dough bin. We date this dough bin to the early 19th century.
The dough bin comes as a single section.
It has been converted at some point in the past to have a drop down door to the centre. The door is fitted with large spanish style hinges and supported on a more recently added chain.
The dough bin sits on four turned legs with stretchers for support.
The dough bin has an overall height of 29.5″ (75cm), a width of 46″ (117cm) and a depth of 18″ (48cm)
This lovely dough bin remains in a solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are quite a number of very old worm holes throughout and the legs have been changed at some point in its life. There is an old repair to the front right hand side of the top surface.
This remains a very stylish and elegant dough bin which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
