A lovely antique Victorian oak bookcase. We date this bookcase to the second half of the 19th century.
The bookcase sits on four queen anne legs and is supplied as a single section.
The interior of the bookcase is fitted with four adjustable position removable wood shelves. The shelves have ornate leather trim to the underside.
The right hand door is fitted with a lock (key supplied).
The doors have been lead glazed and the bottom plinth has attractive blind fretwork decoration.
The bookcase has an overall height of 66.5″ (169cm), a width of 47″ (119cm) and a depth of 14″ (36cm).
The shelves have a depth of 10″ (26cm).
This lovely antique Victorian oak bookcase remains in very good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor wear marks around the feet and some of the edges. The left hand door would have had a handle at some point in the past but this has been removed and the holes filled.
This remains a very stylish and elegant antique Victorian oak bookcase cabinet. It could house a good sized collection of books etc., it will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
