Large Mahogany Waring & Gillow Ltd Twin Pedestal Desk

We date this desk to the first half of the 20th century.
There are Waring & Gillow stamps on the drawer locks and there is a plaque to the inside of
central drawer.

The desk comes in three parts, two pedestals and the table top.

The desk sits on shapely bracket feet, these sit above their original brass castors. The desk top has a large central kneehole drawer flanked by a smaller drawer to each side. The pedestals each have three graduated drawers, the drawer fronts are fitted with large wooden
turned handles and locks (key is supplied). The desk surface has a brown leather writing surface.

The desk has a height of 30″ (76cm), a width of 62″ (157cm) and a depth of 32.5″ (83cm).

This lovely mahogany desk remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface
markings commensurate with age and usage. The desk has wear to some edges and the feet.
One of the top pedestal drawers has ink stains from past use and one of the handles has been
repaired at some time in the past. There are some indented score lines to the central front of the
top surface as can be seen in the pictures.

This remains a very stylish and elegant mahogany twin pedestal desk ideal for a study etc. It will
continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
